The oath requires the officeholder not to directly or indirectly communicate or reveal any matter that comes to their knowledge in that capacity, except insofar as disclosure is necessary for due discharge of official duties. Operatively, the oath functions as a binding condition of service imposing a confidentiality obligation on members handling benami matters.
