of <h1>State Tax Officers Empowered Under Punjab GST Act, 2017; Appellate Authority Faces Restrictions in Exercising Powers</h1> Under the Punjab Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, officers of State tax have the authority to exercise powers and perform duties assigned by the Act, subject to conditions set by the Commissioner. Officers can also exercise powers and perform duties assigned to their subordinates. The Commissioner has the authority to delegate his powers to subordinate officers, with specified conditions. However, an Appellate Authority is restricted from exercising powers or performing duties assigned to other State tax officers.
