Exemptions can be absolute or conditional, and may apply to specific descriptions of goods or services. The government can issue special orders for exemptions in exceptional cases. It may also clarify notifications or orders within a year of issuance. Notifications or orders by the Central Government under the Central Goods and Services Tax Act are recognized under this Act. Suppliers cannot collect tax exceeding the effective rate when exemptions are absolute.
