A Chairperson who is a serving or retired Judge of the Supreme Court or High Court is entitled to an official residence without rent, as per the relevant Judges' Salaries and Conditions of Service Acts. In contrast, a Chairperson who is not a Judge, along with other members, is not eligible for General Pool accommodation but can receive House Rent Allowance at rates applicable to Central Government officers of similar pay.
