High Court judges on Appellate Tribunal keep their salary; retired judges' pay plus pension can't exceed prior salary.
Members of the Appellate Tribunal, who are High Court judges, receive a salary and benefits equivalent to their judicial position. Retired judges appointed as members receive a salary that, combined with their pension, does not exceed their pre-retirement salary. Non-judicial appointees receive a salary within a specified pay scale and allowances similar to equivalent government officers, adjusted for any pensions received. Members serving on multiple tribunals do not receive additional compensation from the Appellate Tribunal. Salary and service conditions cannot be altered to a member's disadvantage post-appointment.
