<h1>Appeal Process: Adjudicating Officer Gets 21 Days to Reply; Hearings Set 30 Days Post-Notification; Ex-Parte Possible</h1> Upon admission of an appeal, the Regional Director must serve the appeal copy to the adjudicating officer, who has up to 21 days to reply, extendable by another 21 days if justified. The adjudicating officer must also serve a copy of their response to the appellant. The hearing date, set at least 30 days after notification, is communicated to both parties. The Regional Director can adjourn hearings and may proceed ex-parte if either party is absent, with provisions for reinstatement upon valid justification. All orders must be dated, signed, and communicated to involved parties and the Central Government.
