Appellants have 14 days to fix appeal defects or risk refusal; extensions possible with valid reasons.
Upon receiving an appeal, the Regional Director's office must date and sign it. If the appeal is in order, it will be registered and assigned a serial number. If defective, the appellant has at least fourteen days to rectify the issues, failing which the Regional Director may refuse registration, stating reasons in writing and notifying the appellant within seven days. The Regional Director can extend this rectification period by an additional fourteen days if the appellant demonstrates sufficient cause for the delay.
