Sale Proclamation for Immovable Property Must Be Announced Locally Per Customs Rules, 1995; Newspaper Publication Optional.
Every proclamation for the sale of immovable property under the Customs (Attachment of Property of Defaulters for Recovery of Government Dues) Rules, 1995, must be announced at or near the property using customary methods like drum beats. A copy must be displayed prominently on the property and the Proper Officer's office. If directed by the Proper Officer, the proclamation may also be published in a local newspaper, with publication costs considered part of the sale expenses. If the property is divided into lots, a separate proclamation for each lot is unnecessary unless adequate notice cannot otherwise be provided.
