Weekly holidays: generally no more than six working days; compensatory holidays required if exemptions remove holidays.

Prohibits work exceeding six days per week as the default rule, with a motor transport exception allowing work on weekly holidays provided no worker works more than ten consecutive days without a whole-day holiday. The Government may exempt workers or establishments by notification under prescribed conditions. If an exemption deprives a worker of weekly holidays, the worker must receive compensatory holidays equal to those lost within the month the holidays were due or within the two succeeding months.
