Workplace accident reporting: employers must notify authorities of fatal or serious injuries and prompt inquiries follow.

Section 10 imposes a mandatory accident notification duty where an accident causes death, prevents work for at least forty eight hours, or is otherwise prescribed; specified persons for each establishment type must notify authorities in the manner and time prescribed by the appropriate government. For death in plantations, construction or other establishments, the receiving authority must conduct an inquiry within two months, or the Chief Inspector cum Facilitator must cause an Inspector cum Facilitator to do so if no authority exists.
