<h1>India Extends Edible Oil Export Ban with Specific Exemptions Until September 2012</h1> The Government of India has extended the ban on the export of edible oils until September 30, 2012. However, exemptions are allowed for specific cases, including the export of castor oil, coconut oil from Cochin Port, deemed exports for production of non-edible goods, exports of oil from minor forest produce, and up to 10,000 metric tons of organic edible oils annually. Additionally, exports of edible oils in branded consumer packs up to 5 kilograms are permitted, with a ceiling of 10,000 tons from November 1, 2011, to October 31, 2012, through designated ports. The export of fish oil remains unrestricted.
