<h1>India Permits Export of Edible Oils in 5 kg Packs with 10,000 Ton Limit; Fish Oil Exports Unrestricted</h1> The Central Government has amended previous notifications to allow the export of edible oils in branded consumer packs of up to 5 kg, with a total export limit of 10,000 tons from November 1, 2009, to October 31, 2010. These exports are restricted to Customs EDI Ports. Additionally, the export of fish oil is permitted without restrictions. The Department of Commerce will monitor the quantity of edible oil exports. This decision is made in the public interest, as per the authority of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, and relevant sections of the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-2009.
