New Export Rules: Rice Exports to Europe Now Require Inspection Certificates Starting March 2022.
The amendment to the ITC(HS) Export Policy, 2018, effective from 9th March 2022, modifies the conditions for exporting Basmati and Non-Basmati rice. Export to EU member states and European countries, including Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland, requires a Certificate of Inspection from the Export Inspection Council/Agency. This requirement extends to other European countries starting from 1st July 2022. The amendment updates Notification No. 12/2015-2020 dated 01.07.2021, enforcing inspection certification for rice exports to ensure compliance with the new policy conditions.
