of <h1>Government adds Rs.1,000 fee under Regulation 3 for resolving shipping bill-GST return mismatches in customs system</h1> The government amended the Levy of Fees (Customs Documents) Regulations, 1970, by a February 17, 2021 regulation effective on publication, to insert a new fee of Rs.1,000 for handling mismatches between shipping bills and GST returns within the customs automated system. The amendment was made under statutory powers in the Customs Act and updates the fee schedule in regulation 3 of the principal regulations, which were previously amended in 2017.
