Declarations under Section 7 of FEMA and Regulations 6-7 require description and full export value or a self estimated value if not ascertainable. Form EDF (duplicate) is submitted to the Commissioner of Customs who forwards the original to the Reserve Bank and returns the duplicate to the exporter for the authorised dealer; Form SOFTEX (triplicate) is submitted to the designated official at STPIs/FTZs/SEZs who forwards the original to the Reserve Bank, returns the duplicate to the exporter and retains the triplicate. Authorities may require evidence of residency, destination and value.
