<h1>Directorate of Enforcement Formed Under Section 36; Central Government Empowers Officers to Enforce Economic Regulations</h1> The Directorate of Enforcement is established under Section 36(1) of the relevant act, with oversight by the Department of Economic Affairs and the Department of Revenue within the Ministry of Finance, as well as the Reserve Bank's exchange control division. Section 36(2) allows the Central Government to authorize the Director of Enforcement and other senior officers to appoint enforcement officers below the rank of Assistant Director. Section 36(3) empowers these officers to perform their duties under the act, subject to conditions set by the Central Government.
