of <h1>Mandatory E-Payment of Service Tax Implemented from October 1, 2006, via Authorized Banks for All Commissionerates.</h1> Effective from October 1, 2006, the mandatory e-payment of service tax can be facilitated through several banks authorized to collect revenue for all Commissionerates. These banks include Union Bank of India, State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, and others. Some banks like UTI Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, and IDBI Bank are authorized for specific Commissionerates in cities such as Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata. The Principal Chief Controller of Accounts oversees this payment and accounting process within the Central Board for Excise and Customs.
