of <h1>Appointment and Terms for Authority Members Set by Finance Act 2017, Section 184: Age, Term, and Removal Conditions</h1> The qualifications, terms, and conditions for service of the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, and Members of the Authority, as outlined in Section 245OA of the Finance Act, 2017, are governed by Section 184 of the same Act. Appointments are made by the Central Government based on recommendations from a Search-cum-Selection Committee. The Chairperson and Members must be at least 50 years old and are eligible for reappointment. They can be removed for reasons like insolvency or moral turpitude, and their term is four years or until reaching a specified age. The Committee's recommendations must be addressed by the government within three months.
