In May 2023, the policy was further amended to allow exports on humanitarian and food security grounds upon request from other governments. Requests from Senegal, Gambia, and Indonesia for FY 2023-24 have been approved. Exporters with prior rice exports to these countries can apply online for quota allocation, subject to a minimum threshold. Applications are accepted from June 21 to June 30, 2023, and must include relevant export data.
