of <h1>India Amends Broken Rice Export Policy: Humanitarian Exceptions for Senegal, Gambia, Indonesia Approved for FY 2023-24.</h1> The Government of India amended the export policy of broken rice, changing its status from 'Free' to 'Prohibited' as of September 2022, with exceptions for certain shipments. In May 2023, the policy was further amended to allow exports on humanitarian and food security grounds upon request from other governments. Requests from Senegal, Gambia, and Indonesia for FY 2023-24 have been approved. Exporters with prior rice exports to these countries can apply online for quota allocation, subject to a minimum threshold. Applications are accepted from June 21 to June 30, 2023, and must include relevant export data.
