<h1>Bar-coding requirements for drug exports delayed; new dates: Jan 1, 2013 (secondary) and July 1, 2013 (primary).</h1> The Directorate General of Foreign Trade has announced a deferment in the implementation of bar-coding requirements for pharmaceutical and drug export consignments. The trace and track technology, initially set to be effective from July 1, 2012, for secondary level packaging and January 1, 2013, for primary level packaging, will now be implemented six months later. The new effective dates are January 1, 2013, for secondary level packaging and July 1, 2013, for primary level packaging. This amendment modifies previous public notices regarding the timeline for these requirements.
