of <h1>Mandatory Bar-Coding on Drug Exports Delayed: New Dates Set for Secondary and Primary Packaging Implementation.</h1> The Directorate General of Foreign Trade has announced a deferment in the implementation dates for mandatory bar-coding on pharmaceutical and drug export packaging. The new effective dates are July 1, 2012, for secondary level packaging and January 1, 2013, for primary level packaging. This amendment provides additional time beyond the initially planned dates of January 1, 2012, for secondary packaging and July 1, 2012, for primary packaging, as part of the trace and track technology requirements under the Foreign Trade Policy 2009-14.
