Administrative delegation under company law broadened through expanded appointment and authorisation of regional officers for statutory functions. Amends section 396 of the Companies Act, 2013 to broaden the administrative framework by enabling the Central Government to appoint Regional Directors, Additional Regional Directors, Joint Regional Directors and Deputy Regional Directors, and to prescribe their powers and duties. It also allows the Government to authorise officers not below the rank of Assistant Director or Assistant Registrar, by notification, to exercise specified powers and duties of the Regional Director or Registrar and to discharge specified functions under the Act.
