Writ jurisdiction expanded: High Courts may issue orders where cause of action arises despite seat or residence being elsewhere.

The amendment permits a High Court to issue directions, orders or writs where the cause of action, wholly or in part, arises within the territories to which it exercises jurisdiction, notwithstanding that the seat of the Government or authority or the residence of the person is not within those territories, and it revises the following clause to refer to this new provision.
