of <h1>Central Government Refers Competition Commission Vacancies to Committee for Recommendations Within 180 Days Under New Procedures</h1> When a vacancy arises for the Chairperson or other Members of the Competition Commission, the Central Government may refer the matter to a designated Committee for recommendations. The Committee is responsible for creating its own procedures to select candidates for the panel, which will then be recommended for appointment. Recommendations must be submitted to the Central Government within 180 days of the referral. A Ministry of Corporate Affairs officer, at least at the level of Joint Secretary, will serve as the Committee's Convener.
