of <h1>2008 Rules Outline Selection Committee Terms for Competition Commission, Superseding 2003 Guidelines Under Competition Act, 2002.</h1> The Competition Commission of India (Term of the Selection Committee and the Manner of Selection of Panel of Names) Rules, 2008, were established by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs under the powers granted by the Competition Act, 2002. These rules supersede the 2003 rules concerning the selection of the Chairperson and other members of the Commission. The 2008 rules detail the term and selection process for the selection committee responsible for creating a panel of names for appointments. They became effective upon their publication in the Official Gazette on February 27, 2008.
