of <h1>Amendment to Competition Commission Rules: Officer Requirement Now 'Not Below Level of Joint Secretary' in Rule 4 Sub-rule (4).</h1> The Central Government has amended the Competition Commission of India (Term of the Selection Committee and the Manner of Selection of Panel of Names) Rules, 2008. Effective from its publication date in the Official Gazette, the amendment changes sub-rule (4) of rule 4 by replacing 'The Joint Secretary' with 'An officer not below the level of Joint Secretary.' This modification is part of the Second Amendment Rules, 2009, under the authority of the Competition Act, 2002. The original rules were published in February 2008 and previously amended in March 2009.
