of <h1>Amendment Extends CCI Selection Committee Term from One Year to 18 Months Under Competition Act, 2002.</h1> The Ministry of Corporate Affairs issued a notification on March 6, 2009, amending the Competition Commission of India (CCI) Rules, 2008. This amendment, under the Competition Act, 2002, extends the term of the Selection Committee responsible for selecting a panel of names for the CCI from one year to one year and six months. The amendment rules, titled the Competition Commission of India (Term of the Selection Committee and the Manner of Selection of Panel of Names) Amendment Rules, 2009, take effect upon their publication in the Official Gazette.
