The Schedule to the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2023 replaces many criminal sanctions across multiple Acts with monetary penalties, establishes administrative adjudicating officers and appellate mechanisms, prescribes recovery as arrears of land revenue and compounding where authorised, and creates institutional arrangements for penalty collection and dedicated funds including an Environmental Protection Fund with audit and reporting requirements.
