<h1>Aadhaar enrolment and data-request entities' failure to give required intimation u/ss 3(2)/8(3) now draws civil penalties</h1> Imposes a monetary penalty on an enrolling agency or requesting entity that fails to comply with the intimation requirements under section 3(2) or section 8(3) of the Aadhaar Act, 2016. The provision substitutes the earlier criminal sanction (imprisonment up to one year and/or fine) with a civil penalty regime, making the contravention liable to a penalty up to ?1,00,000, or up to ?10,00,000 where the contravener is a company.
