Importer obligations expanded: Board may specify additional checks where declared import values appear unreliable under customs rules. Amendment empowers the Central Board to prescribe additional obligations of the importer for classes of imported goods where the Board believes declared value may be untruthful or inaccurate, to specify criteria for selecting such goods and to prescribe the circumstances and manner of checks to be exercised for valuation verification.
