Adaptation of Central Laws recasts procedural and substantive regimes for Jammu and Kashmir, including arbitration, civil procedure and forest law. The Schedule adapts central statutes to the Union territory by removing territorial exceptions and inserting substantive and procedural amendments: the Arbitration Act adds court powers to refer disputes to mediation/conciliation and recognizes mediated settlements as enforceable; the Code of Civil Procedure is overhauled to mandate pre pleading disclosure of documents, detailed electronic record rules, strict case management (Order XV A) with fixed timelines and sanctions, and standardized affidavits of evidence; the Indian Forest Act is amended to deem certain forests reserved/protected, enhance seizure, confiscation and penalty regimes and bar other fora during confiscation proceedings; the IPC gains an offence of sextortion and an Anti Corruption Bureau is established for local investigations.
