<h1>Tribunals Reforms Act, 2021: Chairpersons serve 4 years or until 70, members until 67, overriding previous terms.</h1> The Tribunals Reforms Act, 2021, stipulates that the Chairperson of a Tribunal serves a term of four years or until reaching seventy years of age, whichever comes first. Members serve for four years or until sixty-seven years of age, whichever is earlier. If a Chairperson or Member was appointed between May 26, 2017, and the notified date with a longer term or retirement age specified by the Central Government, that term or age applies, capped at five years. This provision overrides any court judgment or existing law.
