Suspension of Member may be ordered pending investigation when charges are grave and the investigative report is awaited. The Central Government, with the concurrence of the Chief Justice of India and considering the gravity of charges, may suspend a member against whom a reference has been made to an investigating judge until the Government has passed orders on receipt of the judge's report; this suspension is without prejudice to other action under the procedural rules.
