<h1>Regulation 33 mandates verification of claimant rights for deceased creditors' dividends in bankruptcy cases. Trustee approval required.</h1> Regulation 33 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (Bankruptcy Process for Personal Guarantors to Corporate Debtors) Regulations, 2019 addresses the distribution of dividends to claimants or heirs of deceased creditors. If a claimant applies to receive dividends owed to a deceased creditor, the bankruptcy trustee must verify the claimant's right and title to the dividend. The trustee may request evidence to support the claim. Once satisfied with the claim's validity, the trustee can seek approval from the Adjudicating Authority to authorize the payment or return of the dividend to the claimant.
