of <h1>Customs and Central Excise Settlement Commission officials serve up to five years or until age 62, no reappointment.</h1> A person appointed as Chairman, Vice-Chairman, or Member of the Customs and Central Excise Settlement Commission holds office for five years or until reaching sixty-two years of age, whichever comes first, without reappointment eligibility. A serving Vice-Chairman or Member may be appointed as Chairman or Vice-Chairman, provided their total service does not exceed five years or age sixty-two. They must serve at least two years before accepting any new assignment. They may apply for other posts but cannot assume new roles before completing two years of service in the Commission.
