FIIs Responsible for Sub-Accounts' Actions Under SEBI Regulations 1995, Including Regulation 13A Amendment of 2008.
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) are held accountable for all actions, both commissions and omissions, of their sub-accounts under the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Foreign Institutional Investors) Regulations, 1995. This responsibility persists regardless of whether the FII exercises discretion over the sub-account's funds. This regulation does not diminish any existing responsibilities or liabilities of the sub-accounts themselves under these regulations or any other applicable laws. Regulation 13A was introduced through an amendment effective from May 22, 2008.
