of <h1>Companies Act Amended: Section 238 Now Imposes Fixed Penalty of One Lakh Rupees Instead of Variable Fines.</h1> Section 238 of the principal Act has been amended by the Companies (Amendment) Act, 2019. In sub-section (3), the previous provision imposing a fine ranging from twenty-five thousand to five lakh rupees has been replaced. The revised provision now stipulates a fixed penalty of one lakh rupees.
