Authorized Banks Designate E-FPBs for GST Payments, Opening 38 Accounts for CGST, IGST, and SGST Transactions Nationwide.
An E-FPB, or Electronic Focal Point Branch, is a designated branch of an authorized bank responsible for collecting GST payments. Each authorized bank selects one branch as its E-FPB for nationwide transactions. These branches must open 38 accounts to cover all government GST payments, including CGST, IGST, and SGST for each State/UT. Any GST payments received are credited to the respective accounts. For NEFT/RTGS transactions, the Reserve Bank of India serves as the E-FPB.
