          <h1>Search warrant requirement: searches must occur with verified warrants, identity disclosure, witnesses, and documented panchnama.</h1> Searches require a valid search warrant shown and signed by the person in-charge and two witnesses prior to commencement; officers must disclose identity and a lady officer should accompany residential searches. Searches must occur with at least two independent witnesses, with pre- and post-search personal offers for inspection by the team and witnesses. A contemporaneous Panchnama / Mahazar listing seized or detained goods and documents must be prepared and signed by witnesses, the premises' in-charge/owner and authorized officers, a copy given under acknowledgement, and the executed warrant returned with a report to the issuing authority which must maintain warrant records.
