<h1>CGST/SGST Act: Arrest safeguards require written notice, magistrate presentation, and bail under Section 436 CrPC.</h1> Under the CGST/SGST Act, safeguards for individuals placed under arrest include: for cognizable offenses, the person must be informed in writing of the arrest grounds and presented before a magistrate within 24 hours. For non-cognizable and bailable offenses, the Deputy/Assistant Commissioner of CGST/SGST can grant bail, following the same procedures as a police station officer under Section 436 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973. All arrests must comply with the arrest provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.
