Power to include controlled substance in schedules enables central regulation through official gazette notification. The Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, include any controlled substance in one or more Schedules under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Regulation of Controlled Substances) Order, 2013, thereby effectuating the regulatory classification of substances through formal gazette notification.
