Registration of project import contracts requires written application, supporting licences, specified project details, and officer-issued registration numbers. Every importer seeking assessment of goods under heading No. 98.01 must apply in writing to the proper officer at the port for registration of the contract before importation, producing required registration information if cleared elsewhere. Applications are to follow receipt of any required import trade control licence or administrative clearance, specify project location, article description, installed capacity and proposed additions, and include the original contract deed with a true copy, the licence where required, and an approved list of items. The importer must provide further documents as requested. The proper officer, if satisfied, will register the contract, assign a registration number, communicate it to the importer, and return originals not required.
