          <h1>Development Commissioner authority to administer SEZ, manage leases, initiate or defend legal proceedings and enforce compliance.</h1> The Development Commissioner, as Chairperson and CEO, may designate an acting Secretary, implement Authority decisions, comply with Central Government directions, maintain custody of SEZ land records and title deeds, defend and initiate legal proceedings including suits for enhanced compensation and eviction-related actions, execute and authenticate lease agreements, have existing leases deemed between the Authority and Units, allot built-up premises or land after issuing a Letter of Approval, recover dues of the Authority and Central Government, and recommend suspension or cancellation of approvals for violations.
