India Imposes Anti-Dumping Duty on Thermal Sensitive Paper Imports from Japan, EU, and Others to Protect Local Industry
The Government of India imposed an anti-dumping duty on Thermal Sensitive Paper (TSP) imported from Japan, Finland, Germany, and the European Union, following findings that these imports were causing material injury to the domestic industry by being sold below normal value. This duty, initially imposed in April 2000, was modified following a directive from the Customs, Excise and Gold (Control) Appellate Tribunal to adjust the duty in US dollar terms. The duty is specified per square meter and payable in Indian currency, with the exchange rate determined by the rate on the date of the bill of entry presentation.
