of <h1>Customs Act section 157 amendment expands project import benefits for agro warehouses, mandis and greenhouse horticulture infrastructure</h1> Project Imports (Amendment) Regulations, 2012, issued under section 157 of the Customs Act, 1962, amend the Project Imports Regulations, 1986, with effect from 17 March 2012. The amendment revises the description at serial number 3G to cover projects for installation of mechanized handling systems and pallet racking systems in mandis and warehouses for food grains, sugar, and horticulture produce. It further inserts serial number 3I to include greenhouse set-up for protected cultivation of horticulture and floriculture produce, with the Ministry of Agriculture designated as the sponsoring authority. The amendment updates the earlier principal notification and its subsequent modification.
