<h1>Amendment to Project Imports Regulations: Metro and Monorail Projects Now Eligible for Customs Tariff Exemptions Under State Sponsorship.</h1> The Project Imports (Amendment) Regulations, 2014, issued by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, amends the Project Imports Regulations, 1986. Effective from July 11, 2014, the amendment updates the table in the 1986 regulations by substituting serial number 3F. The new entry specifies that Metro Rail or Monorail projects for urban public transport are sponsored by the concerned State Government. This amendment reflects changes in the classification of projects eligible for specific customs tariff exemptions under the Project Imports framework.
