of <h1>Free Cancer Treatment Project in Ahmedabad Extended for 3 Years; Funding Increased to Rs. 1110 Lakh Under Section 35AC</h1> The Central Government has extended the eligibility of the 'Project for free treatment for cancer patients at New Civil Hospital Campus, Asarwa, Ahmedabad, Gujarat,' managed by The Gujarat Cancer Society, under section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. This project will continue for an additional three years starting from the financial year 2009-2010 to 2011-2012. The maximum allowable cost for the project has been increased from Rs. 860.00 lakh to Rs. 1110.00 lakh, following the recommendation of the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare.
