of <h1>Import Ban on Chinese Milk Products Extended 6 Months; Includes Chocolates and Candies Containing Milk Solids Under ITC(HS) Chapter 4.</h1> The Central Government has extended the prohibition on the import of milk and milk products from China for an additional six months, from December 24, 2008, to June 23, 2009. This extension is under Chapter 4 of ITC(HS) and follows Notification No. 46/(RE 2008)/2004-2009. Additionally, an import licensing note has been added to Chapters 17, 18, 19, and 21 of Schedule I of ITC(HS), prohibiting the import of chocolates, candies, and food preparations containing milk solids from China for six months. Transitional arrangements under the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-09 will not apply to these imports during this period.
