India Extends Ban on Import of Chinese Milk Products, Chocolates, and Confectionery Under Foreign Trade Act, 1992.

The Government of India, through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has extended the prohibition on the import of milk and milk products from China. This includes chocolates, chocolate products, candies, confectionery, and food preparations containing milk or milk solids. Initially imposed by Notification No. 67(RE-2008) dated December 1, 2008, the ban is extended for another six months starting June 24, 2009, until further notice. This decision, issued under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, aims to protect public interest.
