of <h1>Non-ferrous Metal Import Monitoring System updated: No more 5-day pre-arrival registration for copper and aluminium imports.</h1> The notification amends the Non-ferrous Metal Import Monitoring System (NFMIMS) under the Foreign Trade Policy, eliminating the requirement for importers to register at least five days before the expected arrival of their consignment. Importers must still submit advance information online for copper and aluminium imports and obtain a registration number for a fee of Rs. 500. Registration can be applied for no earlier than 60 days before the expected arrival date, and the registration number remains valid for 75 days. This amendment is authorized by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
